Scientists from the University of Portsmouth are using Zantiks units to help aid our understanding of drug and alcohol addiction in humans and the impact of drug pollution on wildlife.

At the IBANGS 2019 meeting in Edinburgh this weekend Barbara Fontana presented an abstract on Behavioral laterality which used the Y-maze protocol with zebrafish, in the Zantiks AD unit, to show the links between left-right bias and aversion learning.

A preprint in bioRxiv last month – A fully automated computer based Skinner box for testing learning and memory in zebrafish – describes detailed protocols for two automated tests of learning and memory in adult zebrafish using the Zantiks AD unit.

Last week we visited the Department of Neuroscience, Physiology; Behavioral neuroendocrinology in Uppsala to install 4 Zantiks AD systems which will be used for operant conditioning and tracking studies on zebrafish.
